The ride is 54km/33miles long, has 590m/1936ft of ascent with a peak height of 222m/722ft.  

 

The ride is flat/undulating other than the climb upto Little Wenlock which starts at Eyton on Severn and continues for 7km, with a maximum gradient of 13% (for a very short time) and an average of around 6%.

 

The route uses small lanes and the B4380 that runs between Ironbridge and Atcham.  Road surfaces are generally ok other than the lane we use to climb upto and out of Little Wenlock.  This lane has areas where the surface is in poor condition and gravel has accumulated where the lane dips and turns.  There are a couple of steep descents so brakes need to be in good working order!!

 

We will stop for a short break at the ancient oak tree just before we cross the B4380 and lunch is at the Furnace Kitchen Click.  On our return we have the option to stop at Home Farm, Attingham Click
