Car/Rail assist Ride to Halfpenny Green (CMU)
Hello Sunday Cruisers,
This Sunday, 26th July is from Shifnal to a new destination: Halfpenny Green Wine Estate.
It is therefore a car or rail assisted ride. (Shifnal train station a stone’s throw away)
Meet at Shifnal Aston Street Car park (TF11 8DW – 52.666784, -2.371567) for a start at 10 am.
The ride is 37 miles with 552 metres of ascent, so classed as CMU.
We will proceed via Cosford, Albrighton, Patshull and Seisdon to Halfpenny Green.
Our return route is via Claverley, Worfield, Chesterton and Beckbury.
If you wish to join us en route please let me know, so that suitable location is agreed upon.
There are many roadside spots under shade on our route suitable for 11s.
We will criss-cross 7 major roads but the ride will mainly be on quiet country lanes.
Lunch will be at the HalfPenny Wine Estate. https://www.halfpennygreen.co.uk/
The general menu is on their website. On Sundays they also do roast, and we could have small roasts if we want. Please let me know by Thursday (23 July) night if you intend to eat at Halfpenny restaurant so that I could make the reservation for the appropriate numbers.
In line with the name of another car assisted ride we repeated many times, I would call ride to Halfpenny Green : 2+2&Bonus. Let us see who will decipher this code.
