Invitation to a Cycling UK Shropshire Weekend in Bala
Expressions of interest by 12 April please
On behalf of the committee, Brian Sidoli-Morris and Margaret Westhead have put together a proposal for members to cycle to Bala over the week-end of June 21st to 23rd. The weekend is designed to be very flexible so that as many as possible feel that they can join in.
The proposal is that some of us will cycle out to Bala on Friday (52 miles) and cycle back on Sunday (44 miles). On Saturday there are three possible routes:
Route A : Bala to Barmouth and back ( 67miles, 6000 ft climbing)
Route B : Round trip to Trawsfynydd (40 miles, 3750 ft climbing)
Route C : Round trip along the Dee valley (32 miles undulating)
None of the rides are compulsory! The idea is that this is a social event with as much or as little cycling as you want. Non-cycling partners are welcome.
Accommodation is for individuals to organise themselves. There are plenty of places to stay in the area, including a lakeside campsite.
You can come for all three days, two days or just one day and there is no charge! However Margaret will be organising a group meal on the Friday evening to which all will be invited.
We would like to judge the level of interest before proceeding to finalise arrangements so please contact either Margaret (firstname.lastname@example.org or 01694 731223) or Brian (email@example.com or 07801 901454) if you’d like to come .
We need initial responses by 12th April in order to know the overall numbers, the level of interest in the different routes, and numbers for the meal on Friday.
