If you are coming, please let me know, so that we could wait for you should you be delayed for any reason.
Those of you who intend to drive from Shrewsbury via Ironbridge, please be aware that the Waterloo St. is closed and there are long diversions. Arriving via Much Wenlock is a better option.
The ride is planned for 32 miles, but extendable in few areas should you feel to do a bit more. It has a few “Sidolis”, so you will be working for your lunch and afterwards.
We will go to Bridgnorth via Brockton, Ryton, Badger, Rindleford, Roughton.
Interest was expressed to experience the cliff railway (funicular-one of the steepest). Bikes will be stored in the low town station and we will take the funicular (£1.60 rtn).
The lunch is at the winding house tea rooms (menu attached below) which also houses the winding gear (visible) for the funicular.
If you wish to eat at the winding house please let me know so that I can reserve enough places.
Those of you who wish to bring your own sandwiches, can have them in castle walk / gardens.
We will then proceed to Raiwayman’s Arms for rail & beer enthusiasts.
Return route is via Oldbury, Morville, Haughton, Willey and Benthall.
There is also an option to finish it off with a Broseley Criterium (!) should you wish.
