The Ray Page Award

The Ray Page Award can be awarded by the Cycling UK Shropshire Members once a year at the AGM. The recipient of the award is chosen as the individual who, of all the local members, has contributed most to the image and promotion of cycling. It does not have to be awarded every year and any member of the club can nominate candidates to receive the award.
Ray Page was the epitome of a club cyclist who was born in September 1927 near Carding Mill Valley and sadly died prematurely in 1988 from an inherited heart condition. I have reproduced an article about him from the 2004 Wheelmarks magazine written by Benny Lux. ( see below)
We are at present hoping members will nominate individuals for this award so it can be presented at the next AGM.
