COG Cyclists Support Inaugural CTC Ellesmere Group Ride

Four COG cyclists joined an excellent inaugural Ellesmere CTC Cycling Group ride on Sunday – thanks Alex.   Superb weather and 34 enjoyable miles along the lanes from Ellesmere to Montford Bridge, then to the Three Pigeons at Nescliffe for lunch, returning via Tedsmore.  Next Ellesmere ride on 9 March.  See photos below…

Ellesmere ride 2 - 09/02/14But, if you are wondering who or what COG is…  COG (Cycling Oswestry Gently) is an informal, social and easy paced cycling group for families, beginners, returnees, or any cyclist who wishes to come along for a sociable ride.  Children are very welcome (under 16’s accompanied by an adult) – for example, we regularly have a 6 year old on a tag-along bike.  We meet on the last Sunday of every month at 11am, Wilfred Owen Green, Oswestry (behind the old railway station), for a choice of a short easy paced route, or a longer moderately paced route, returning about 2pm after a café/pub lunch stop.  Visit our Facebook page for more information.

Ellesmere ride 1 - 09/02/14Our next COG ride is this Sunday (23 February) when we will be exploring the lanes, canals and aqueducts north of Oswestry to Chirk.  All welcome – please spread the word…
